Mitsui Fudosan rebuilds a Ginza corner and keeps its 1873 art gallery upstairs, watch maison downstairs
Announced in early June, an eight-storey rebuild on Namiki-dori splits neatly in two: a 153-year-old gallery keeps the upper floors, and Jaeger-LeCoultre's Japan flagship takes the ground and three above it, opening mid-August.
Mitsui Fudosan completed construction on the Abe Yoseido Building at Ginza 5-chome, on Namiki-dori, on 31 March 2026, and said on 8 June 2026 that the eight-storey building will house two tenants: Yoseido Gallery, founded in 1873, returning to floors five through eight, and a Jaeger-LeCoultre flagship boutique on floors one through four. Construction began in July 2024. The building sits on a roughly 104-square-metre site and totals about 605 square metres of floor area, with around 442 square metres of leasable tenant space, according to the company.
