Nagoya Railway opens a transit-linked retail strip beneath Toyota-shi Station
Nagoya Railway is filling the elevated tracks at Toyota-shi Station with a compact eight-shop retail strip, timed to open just as the Asian Para Games brings a rare wave of visitors to a city built around car plants, not shopping streets.
Nagoya Railroad Co. (Meitetsu) will open μPLAT Toyota-shi, a roughly 1,330-square-metre commercial facility built into the elevated railway structure at Toyota-shi Station, on 26 August, the company announced. A FamilyMart convenience store within the development will open earlier, on 19 August, ahead of the main opening.
