Mitsubishi Estate names its Fukuoka Tenjin tower 'Tenjin Taiju', confirms Ace Hotel as operator
Mitsubishi Estate has settled on a name for the 21-storey tower rising on Fukuoka Tenjin's former department-store site and confirmed Ace Hotel will run its hotel floors, bringing the boutique brand to a second Japan city as the district's post-department-store rebuild continues.
Mitsubishi Estate said the mixed-use tower under construction on the former Tenjin Imz department-store site in Fukuoka's Chuo ward will be called Tenjin Taiju (天神大樹, literally 'Tenjin big tree'), according to a statement on the developer's corporate newsroom. Once complete, the building will rise 21 storeys above ground and four below, reach roughly 91 metres, and hold about 73,700 square metres of total floor area on a site of about 4,640 square metres.
