J. Front's August sales dip is almost entirely down to Daimaru Umeda's renovation
J. Front Retailing's department stores swung to a 0.6% year-on-year sales decline in August, but strip out Daimaru Umeda — mid-renovation and down 45.8% — and the rest of the group actually grew.
J. Front Retailing's department-store business posted total sales down 0.6% year on year in August, the company said in its monthly sales flash dated September 1 — a reversal from July, when the same measure rose 0.6%.
