Cartier stages its new high-jewellery collection's second chapter in Kyoto
Cartier stages the second chapter of its new high-jewellery collection in Kyoto, with a kabuki performance and Sofia Coppola among the guests.

Cartier staged the second chapter of its high-jewellery collection "Le Chœur des Pierres" in Kyoto, Richemont's Japan entity said in an October 16 press release, with ambassadors Kento Kaku, JISOO and Sofia Coppola among the guests at a one-night dinner on October 13.
The collection, described in the release as "a hymn to gemstones," is built around stones Cartier selected intuitively and arranged into finished pieces, including a design called "Stellara" and a spotted-panther piece from the house's Panthère line. Guests at the Kyoto dinner wore pieces from the new collection, and the evening included a presentation on models and a kabuki dance performance by Hayato Nakamura.
Beyond its three ambassadors, the guest list included actors Haruka Ayase — attending a Cartier event for the first time, according to the release — Mio Imada, Nanako Matsushima and Ryo Yoshizawa. Richemont Japan said Imada's presence added to what it called a milestone for the maison in Japan, and framed Kyoto's history and craftsmanship as a fitting backdrop for the stones' own stories.
Staging a collection's second chapter in Kyoto, with a kabuki performance and Japanese actors among the guests, ties the launch to Japan's own culture, and Richemont Japan framed the evening as a milestone for the maison in Japan.
